I have over 20 years in marketing and advertising, working with national brands. In 2005, I left the ad agency world and began writing the “White Trash Mom” blog the same year. The blog evolved into a book.
My book was released on August 5th, 2008. The White Trash Mom Handbook is an irreverent but solid guide for parents of school age kids. The book has been called the “Girlfriend’s Guide for the School Years”. St. Martin’s Press published the book which has received good reviews!
I am the entertainment editor for one of the largest web sites for women, CafeMom. In addition, I am a freelance writer and marketing consultant.
I’m married to Timothy Lamar, also known as Saint Timothy. Tim is a producer-director who travels a great deal for work…and some say for his sanity. We are the parents of two daughters, ages 10 and 14. The family is rounded out by a Yellow Lab, two Pugs, and a Cat.
When I am not on my computer, I love to hang out with my dysfunctional family and friends. I love to laugh and play bad tennis. I am addicted to Reality TV and writing.
In my definition, being white trash isn’t about trailer parks, it’s a state of mind. The White Trash Mom Handbook is not about money or status or education. It’s about giving you the freedom to be yourself.
